The title announcement was made on Arjun’s 44th birthday and the makers also released the first look poster of the actor from the film.

The poster presents Arjun in a striking, menacing avatar—bald head, kohl-lined eyes staring intensely at the camera, a thick dark beard, and prominent animal claws framing his face.

Atlee, known for Tamil films “Mersal”, “Theri”, and Hindi movie “Jawan”, said he is thrilled to bring his passion project to life with “Raaka”.

“’Raaka’ isn’t just a film; it’s a part of me I’ve carried for years. For 18 years, I held on to one idea, never letting it fade. It tested me, shaped me, and stayed with me through everything. And honestly… this is just the beginning,” the director said in a statement.

The scale and ambition of the film reflect a storytelling approach that is rooted in Indian cinema while aiming to connect with a global audience, a press release issued here read.

Sun Pictures is privileged to bring together Atlee and Arjun in a project built for the world audience.

“’Raaka’ is a collaboration born of the highest ambitions in Indian cinema. We believe this will not only redefine the scale of what we create, but also affirm Indian cinema’s rightful place in global entertainment,” the production house said.

Actors Deepika Padukone and Mrunal Thakur round out the cast of “Raaka”.
