Common man on a mission

Director-writer Faruk Kabir’s Khuda Haafiz, which stars Vidyut Jammwal, is set to release on Disney+ Hotstar on August 14, 2020. The movie shows Vidyut as a common man who is on a mission to trace his wife, a role essayed by Shivaleeka Oberoi, who has gone missing in another country. The film has been shot in the sub-zero temperatures of Uzbekistan over a span of 48 days.

Interestingly, the plot was inspired by an article that Faruk Kabir chanced upon. The story kept resonating with him and that’s when he started researching on it. Said Vidyut Jammwal, “Working with Faruk was one of the highlights of my career. He has an incredible eye for cinema.”
