Music is in his genes. Jashan Singh, son of popular singer Hardeep Singh, who has done playback singing in a Punjabi film, released his solo songs and even tried his hand at acting in a Mahesh Bhatt film. His track Allah Veh for MTV Coke Studio was a turning point in his career. Now, he is going to add another feather in his cap by entering the Hindi music industry. Currently working with Kunal Verma and Payal Dev, the singer-actor is waiting to shoot the video of his upcoming song Iktara. Apart from singing, it is his love for fashion that takes the lead!

My height does the trick here. And the rest is taken care of by white salwar kameez and Lahori jutti. When I wear this attire and team it up with a smile on my face, it’s pure swag.

Lots of formal shirts, suits and I have to have white shoes.

Diljit Dosanjh. He has a unique sense of style and has made turban a style statement internationally.

Exotic place where you want to hang out with your date?

Gold Coast. It has the most beautiful beaches in the world.

What turns you off?

Pretence. I don’t understand why people have to pretend to be something they are not. Egotism is another turn off. Some people are so into themselves that I would rather walk away than deal with them.

Accessories that you can’t do without?

My rings and chain.

Call for comfort?

Enjoying coffee in my lounge-wear. No phone or other gadgets at that time. That’s my idea of ‘me time’.

Your fitness includes...

I do some exercises every day, eat healthy and drink lots of water as well as juices. No alcohol or non-vegetarian food also keeps the body light and active.

Any inclination towards sports?

I am a soccer lover. I enjoy watching wrestling and there is a personal bias towards hockey, since my father has played the sport for our country.

Traditional dresses that you love?

Rajasthani kurta and Muktsar-style kurta pyjamas.

How do you unwind yourself?

Driving around with soulful music playing and doing riyaaz! I also love to spend time with my family and pets. Whenever I can grab a chance, I enjoy travelling.

Your prized possession?

That would be my gadgets—laptop, camera, my phone and my car

If not singing, then?

I would do some business.

Street smart vs brand freak?

It really depends. I am a bit of both.

You never leave home without?

My wallet and phone.

My favourite sherwani in white colour, which I wear with khosa jutti.
