The New York-based apparel maker's fashion show comes after it raised its annual sales and margin outlook last week. Its core dress and suits designs, along with price increases, have helped Ralph Lauren to lure more wealthy Gen Z shoppers.

Model Gigi Hadid opened the show with a dark-coloured turtle neck under a brown skirt set. Other models sported pageboy hats, patterned scarves and fur coats.

"It’s a little more mellow, a little more black and dark velvet, definitely more on the browns," David Lauren, Ralph Lauren’s son, said about the collection. "It’s quite elegant, and it’s in the fabrication and the detailed craftsmanship." Ralph Lauren's nearly 100-person guest list included Vogue Chief Content Officer and Global Editorial Director Anna Wintour, and actresses Anne Hathaway and Ariana DeBose.

The brand's 88-year-old namesake Ralph Lauren is "such an important American designer," Hathaway said. "He is such an important New Yorker, and so I’m just thrilled to be in his orbit."
