Music composer and singer Wajid Khan's mother Razina has tested coronavirus positive.
Wajid died of a cardiac arrested at a Mumbai hospital due to coronavirus on Monday. The singer's mother was reportedly present at the same hospital to take care of her ailing son.
The 42-year-old singer had underlying kidney issues.
An ABP News report has quoted a source as saying: “Wajid’s mother Razina had already contracted coronavirus before the late musician was infected with the virus. Wajid, who was suffering from kidney and throat infection, tested positive for Covid-19 later.”
The source added: “Sajid-Wajid’s mother is better now and her condition has improved. She stayed in Surana Sethia hospital to take care of her ailing son. However, she contracted Covid-19 after she came in contact with other coronavirus patients at the hospital.”
Music composer Salim Merchant, who first confirmed the news of Wajid's death, said the composer was hospitalised recently at Surana Hospital, Chembur where his condition deteriorated.
The music composer duo made their Bollywood debut with Salman's 1998 movie "Pyaar Kiya Toh Darna Kya" and went on to work on actor's various films including “Garv”, “Tere Naam”, “Tumko Na Bhool Payenge”, “Partner” and the popular “Dabangg” franchise.— With PTI
