Chandigarh, November 28

For people in Chandigarh, or for that matter in Punjab, the phrase 'Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui' isn't new. Not just for the song but more for the gedi route and the nostalgia around it all. So, when Ayushmann Khurrana's upcoming film 'Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui' was revealed, the connection was strong and quite obvious. Born and brought in Chandigarh, it was none other than the actor himself to suggest the special title for the movie.

In a video shared by T-Series on its YouTube channel, director Abhishek Kapoor tells how Ayushmann came up with the name. With a montage of behind the scenes, the video also has Ayushmann, Vaani and other memebers who talk about the film.

After the opening shots and a few lines from Ayushmann and the writersTushaar Pranjape and Supratik Sen, it is Abhishek who says, "Ayushmann suggested this title for the film."

The Ayushmann explains why he picked the title. He says, "Chandigarh was not explored that much, also I could just give that authentic flavour because I have been born and brought up in Chandigarh."

Watch the video here:

Shots of him walking in sector 17 market, right outside Indian Coffee House, follow. Then the actor reminisced of his chidlhood days when he visited the coffee shop with his father and that the coffee was only of Rs 10 back in those days. Ayushmann says, "Shooting in my hometown Chandigarh for the first time feels really surreal. The coffee house we are sitting in in Sector 17… I used to come with my papa. The coffee here used to be for Rs 10 and today it is for Rs 35… Kitna badal gaya insaan."

As we see Ayushmaan and Vaani Kapoor shooting at the Elante Mall, producer Bhushan Kumar says the film is a bonanza for everyone.

Even Vaani says, "It's a lighthearted, happy film about these two people. There's fun and it has a great message."

Ayushmann, who will be seen playing a cross-functional athlete in the film, says, "Audience should expect something they have never seen before."
