A film on Guru Nanak Dev was screened as a part of the heritage festival at Phul Cinema on Tuesday. It focussed on three principles, ‘Kirat karo (earn an honest living), naam japo and wand chhako (sharing with others)’,

The film is produced by Vikas Parasher and directed by Dharminder Anand. The ‘qawwali’ in the film has been sung by Ritu Noora.

The film threw light on effects of Guru Nanak’s personality, his teachings and guidance.

The movie characters discussed that the Guru treated everyone equally.

The film was screened twice for the audience as the theatre hall was full. The film’s music has been composed by Gulshan Mir, Rekha Mir and Jassi Nihaluwal.

Dr BS Ghuman, VC of Punjabi University, said the societal ills could be dealt with the three principles. He said the film must be shown throughout the country to ensure peace, amity and universal brotherhood.
