A 34-year-old local resident has tested positive for swine flu. The patient has been admitted to Kalpana Chawla Government Medical College.
The department is tracing his travel history to track its origin. According to information, the Sector 8 resident, working in Noida, came to hospital suffering from fever two days back. After seeing the symptoms, the department took a sample and sent it to Delhi, which was found to be H1N1 positive.
Dr Aman Yadav, epidemiologist, said they had sent samples of three patients, including two who had returned from China, but only one was found positive.
The samples of the other two persons were negative for coronavirus and swine flu, he pointed out. “The patient is undergoing treatment at the hospital,” he said. “Members of the patient’s family have been checked and given medicine along with necessary instructions,” he added.
