GDC felicitates NSS volunteers

The Principal of Government Degree College (GDC), Kathua felicitated NSS volunteers who participated in the National Integration Camp at the University of Jammu. The camp was organised by the NSS in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth affairs and Sports and the NSS, Regional Directorate, New Delhi. The students from different State and Union Territories. Principal Prof Assa Ram Sharma congratulated students for taking part in the camp. Harneet Kour (RD camp holder), Dakashveer Chagdhal (RD camp holder), Aditti Tikku, Hari Singh, Shahana Ali, Gourav Sharma , Arti Devi, Nakul Singh and Pooja Sarmal a long with NSS Programme Officers Prof Manmohan Singh and Prof Ritu Kumar Sharma were part of the camp.

Sanskriti School students win medals

Students of Sanskriti School brought laurels by winning medals in national ‘Qwan Ki Do’ championship (2019-20) organised in Aurangabad. Two gold medals were clinched by Vishal and Rajnish Kumar in under U-14 and U-17 category. One silver medal was clinched by Sonalika Choudhary in U-17 and two bronze medals were bagged by Abhirag Bharti and Isha. Principal-cum-vice-chairperson Rohini Aima admired performance of youngsters and wished them success in their future endeavor. She also applauded Jagpreet Kour, martial art coach for her dedication

NSF unit at Kunjwani GDC

The National Secular Forum (NSF) has constituted its unit for Government Degree College, Kunjwani, and appointed Junaid Khan and Zahier Sohail as its president and chairman, respectively. Anirudh Singh Kotwal was appointed as the senior vice -president. Abhimanyu Choudhary, Shubham, Shahzad Kazmi, and Wahied Ali Choudhary were appointed as vice-presidents whileRahul Singh was appointed as cashier and Sabar Ahmad as publicity secretary.

Annual day at Rain Drop Pre School

Rain Drop Pre School organised its 4th annual day function with great enthusiasm at Abhinav Theatre. The programme commenced with lighting of the lamp followed by ‘Ganesh puja’. Principal Mokshi Mahajan highlighted the achievements and good work done by the school.

JU SC/ST employees hold meet

A meeting of the Jammu University SC/ST Employees Association was held today under the chairmanship of association president RL Kaith. Kaith said that the JU administration has no interest in solving the problems of SC/ST employees as nothing has been done on a charter of demands submitted to the Vice-Chancellor Manoj K Dhar on November 27, 2019.

Awareness on ill-effects of drugs

With the aim to educate the youth about ill-effects of drug abuse, The Army organised a lecture on “Drug abuse” at Faislabad in Poonch. Students were sensitised about various aspects of drug abuse and its adverse effects on the health, family and society. The symptoms, treatment and rehabilitation was given due emphasis during the discussion.
