25-year-old dies after falling from 12th floor in Gurugram's Sohna
Family seeks impartial probe, questions how he reached the location and fell
A 25-year-old man died after falling from the 12th floor of Hill Town Society in the Sohna police station area on Friday night, officials said on Saturday.
The deceased was identified as Deepak, a resident of Band Colony, who had allegedly arrived at the society with his friend Joginder, a resident of Peer Colony.
Shortly after they reached the society, Deepak was found to have fallen from the 12th floor. He died on the spot due to severe injuries. Following the incident, Joginder called Deepak’s family and informed them about the incident.
Deepak’s family described the death as suspicious and demanded an impartial police investigation. They questioned how he reached the 12th floor and sought an inquiry into who was with him at the time and how he fell from the balcony or any other location.
The Sohna police reached the spot after receiving information from the victim’s family and sent the body for a postmortem examination.
“Acting on a complaint filed by the family, we are investigating all aspects of the incident. We are also trying to ascertain the purpose of Deepak’s visit to the society and who was present there at the time of the incident. The actual cause of death will be known only after the postmortem report,” a senior police officer said.
