Swish, the rapid food delivery start-up that gained a cult following in Bengaluru for its 'fresh food in minutes' model, has officially launched in Gurugram. This marks the company’s first major expansion outside its home base of Karnataka.

The announcement was made by Aniket Shah, co-founder of Swish, who revealed that the move was fueled by persistent demand from customers who had relocated from Bengaluru to the National Capital Region (NCR).

“People who move cities usually leave their habits behind. New city, new routine. But some habits are hard to kill,” Shah stated in a social media post. “For months, we got messages from people who had tried Swish in Bengaluru and moved to Gurugram, asking when we’d come. Today, we keep that promise.”

Initial coverage areas

Swish is starting its Gurugram operations with a presence in three key high-traffic hubs:

  • Sushant Lok
  • Udyog Vihar

The service differentiates itself in the crowded quick-commerce market by focusing specifically on quality cooked meals delivered within a 10-to-15-minute window, utilising a network of "compact kitchens" strategically placed to ensure speed without compromising food temperature or freshness.

Local branding strategy

To mark the launch, Swish has adopted localised marketing tailored to the NCR culture. One of the primary promotional images features a delivery partner with a bag emblazoned with the popular Hindi phrase, "Aaj Gaadi Tera Bhai Chalayega" (Today, your brother will drive the vehicle), a playful nod to the local dialect and the speed of their delivery service.

What’s next?

Having successfully breached the North Indian market, the company is already looking toward further expansion. Shah concluded his announcement by asking the community, "Where should we come next?", signaling that more locations across the NCR or other Tier-1 cities could be on the horizon. With this move, Swish enters direct competition with established food delivery giants and emerging quick-commerce players in one of India’s most competitive food-tech markets.
