A Class X student allegedly died by suicide by hanging himself in Baba Hardeva Colony of the Jatoli area under Pataudi police station. The police have sent the body for a post-mortem examination and started an investigation.

According to the police, the student has been identified as 16-year-old Kunal, a resident of Baba Hardeva colony. The teenager's CBSE Class X exam results were declared on Wednesday evening. It is believed that he took the extreme step as he was upset over his low marks.

The incident took place late on Wednesday evening. All family members were in the same room when the boy, after the declaration of results, went to another room on the terrace. When others went behind to check on him, the room was locked from inside. When family members broke the door, Kunal was found hanging from a noose inside.

On getting the information, a police team reached the spot and took the body into custody. No suicide note was found in his room.

“It's suspected that the student took this extreme step as he did not get expected marks. We will hand over the body to the family after the post-mortem. A probe is under way”, said sub inspector Satyaprakash, the investigating officer.
