Justice Shekhawat reviews preparations for inauguration of Tower of Justice in Gurugram

Justice N.S. Shekhawat of the Punjab and Haryana High Court on Friday reviewed preparations for the inauguration of Gurugram’s Tower of Justice, which is scheduled to be inaugurated by the Chief Justice of India on July 12.

Chairing a review meeting at the venue, Justice Shekhawat took stock of arrangements being made by various departments and assessed preparations point by point. He directed officials to complete all pending work within the stipulated timeframe and maintain close coordination to ensure the smooth and dignified conduct of the ceremony.

Calling the inauguration, a historic occasion for Gurugram’s judicial system, Justice Shekhawat said the Tower of Justice was not merely a new judicial building but an important step towards strengthening and modernising judicial infrastructure and making it more citizen-friendly.

He said the new complex would facilitate smoother judicial functioning and help provide better judicial services to litigants and the public.

Justice Shekhawat directed officials to ensure that there were no shortcomings in arrangements related to security, traffic management, cleanliness, electricity and drinking water, stressing that security must remain the top priority.

The review covered VIP movement, entry and exit arrangements, parking, traffic regulation, medical assistance, fire services, power and water supply, sanitation and signboards. Officials were also asked to ensure proper arrangements for judicial officers, advocates and distinguished guests expected to attend the ceremony.

All departments were directed to work in close coordination and complete their assigned responsibilities on time.

District and Sessions Judge Narendra Sura, Deputy Commissioner Uttam Singh, Police Commissioner Sibash Kaviraj attended the meeting.
