Kanwar Yatra 2026: Gurugram Police issue heavy vehicle diversions on Dwarka, KMP Expressways
Heavy vehicles moving from Delhi through Gurugram towards Rajasthan, Jhajjar, Rewari, Pataudi, Nuh and Faridabad to use Dwarka Expressway and KMP Expressway
The Gurugram Police has put in place extensive security and traffic management arrangements to ensure the safety of Kanwariyas and motorists in view of the ongoing Kanwar Yatra and the holy month of Sawan.
As part of the traffic plan, authorities have issued a special traffic advisory for heavy vehicles effective from August 9 to August 11, 2026, to minimise congestion on key roads and ensure the smooth movement of pilgrims.
Under these guidelines, heavy vehicles moving from Delhi through Gurugram towards Rajasthan, Jhajjar, Rewari, Pataudi, Nuh and Faridabad have been advised to avoid the main corridors and use the Dwarka Expressway and Kundli-Manesar-Palwal (KMP) Expressway instead.
Dedicated resting spots and drinking water stations have been set up along the pilgrimage routes to provide relief to Kanwariyas. Officials deployed on the routes have also been instructed to maintain a helpful and cooperative demeanor towards the travellers.
The Gurugram Police has urged the general public and motorists to exercise patience, obey instructions, and adhere to designated alternative routes during the diversion period.
It has also advised citizens not to believe or share unverified information on social media and to rely solely on official updates issued by the district administration.
