Old family feud turns fatal, 25-year-old man killed in Gurugram
Sagar sustained critical injuries and was rushed to Pataudi Civil Hospital, where doctors declared him dead
A 25-year-old man was allegedly killed after being shot and attacked with a farsa (battle axe) in Karola village under the Farrukhnagar police station area of Gurugram on Thursday evening, reportedly over an old feud.
An FIR has been registered at Farrukhnagar police station and an investigation is underway.
According to the police, the deceased has been identified as Sagar, a resident of Karola village. A long-standing dispute was ongoing between Sagar's family and that of Machhendra Pehalwan. Two days earlier, a major altercation had taken place between the two families. Following the clash, Sagar, who was in Bengaluru, returned to the village on Thursday after learning about the incident.
Police said that around 5 pm on Thursday, several youths allegedly associated with Machhendra Pehalwan attacked Sagar and his family. The assailants reportedly used firearms and sharp-edged weapons, including a farsa. Sagar sustained critical injuries and was rushed to Pataudi Civil Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
A senior police officer said a case has been registered and raids are being conducted to arrest the accused. The suspects will be apprehended soon, the officer added.
