Operation Lagam: Palwal Police book 6 for glorifying gangster culture
8,050 violators fined, SWAT teams deployed
In a major action by Palwal Police under "Operation Lagam," FIRs were registered in six cases for promoting gangster culture, weapons flashing and showing off on social media. Police counselled 38 social media users and nearly 1,000 reels/posts were deleted. A special cell was constituted for continuous social media monitoring.
Nitish Agarwal, SP of Palwal, said that to curb rowdiness on the road, five special teams were formed, which cracked down on 8,050 violators during the operation for illegal red-blue lights, dark film, pressure horns, bullet pataka silencers, drunk driving and driving without number plates in the last 40 days.
To curb crime, road rowdiness, social media hooliganism, and strengthen road safety, a special action roadmap has been implemented in the district with the launch of "Operation Lagam – Na Reel Mein Gundagardi, Na Road Par Manmani".
Under "Operation Lagam," a total of five teams, including SWAT teams have been constituted to take strict action against road rowdiness and indulging in reckless behaviour/stunt driving on roads. Besides this, stringent action is also being taken continuously at the police station and chowki level.
“Na Reel Mein Gundagardi, Na Road Par Manmani will not be tolerated in Palwal. Special Cell and SWAT teams have been formed under 'Operation Lagam' to completely curb such activities. The Social Media Monitoring Cell of Palwal Police is active 24x7. Any person displaying weapons or spreading fear on Instagram, Facebook or any other platform will not be spared. Operation Lagam will continue relentlessly,” added SP Agarwal.
