Former Congress President Sonia Gandhi was admitted to Medanta Hospital in Gurugram for routine check-ups on Tuesday night.

Sources in Medanta confirmed that she had come to the hospital around 10 pm and was admitted for examination and tests.

She was admitted to the The Medanta Institute of Digestive & Hepatobiliary Sciences in Gurugram, a centre for comprehensive gastrointestinal, liver and pancreatic care, led by Dr Randhir Sud, who was formerly with Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, where Sonia goes for her routine treatments.

Sonia Gandhi, 79, has been visiting Medanta Hospital since her doctors from Sir Ganga Ram Hospital shifted there.

She was earlier hospitalised at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital several times.
