‘Godman’ held for rape, blackmail

Fatehabad: A court at Tohana on Friday sent Mahant Baba Amarpuri, alias Billu, to police remand for five days. The police arrested him on Thursday and recovered nearly 120 CDs containing videos of physical intimacy with women in the temple after one such video went viral on social media. The accused allegedly claimed having knowledge of occult practices and used to trap women in the name of treating them of their problems. He allegedly gave them intoxicants and raped them in a room wherein he had installed cameras. He reportedly used to blackmail and rape them repeatedly. He was booked for rape, blackmail and criminal intimidation. tns
