1,000-yr-old statue of Hindu god found

Nearly 1,000 years old statue of god Vaman was found atop a hill in the Aravallis in the Tosham area of Bhiwani district today. Vaman is considered incarnation of Lord Vishnu in Hindu mythology.

Archaeology Department official SP Chahalia said that the statue was carved out of red stone and was around 60 kg in weight. The department was in touch with the local authorities to take the statue in its custody for its preservation, he said. — TNS
