Mahendragarh, August 4
A Narnaul CIA team of the district police arrested a man, accused of manufacturing and selling illegal weapons, from Bharatpur district in Rajasthan and seized 48 country-made pistols, 17 cartridges and other materials from him.
Vikran Bhushan, Superintendent of Police, Mahendragarh, said the accused had been identified as Tahir of Daulatpur village in Mathura (Uttar Pradesh). He was arrested from the Kaman area in Bharatpur (Rajasthan).
“The accused used to make illegal weapons at home and sell these between Rs 4,000 and 5,000 each. Besides, he used to repair old illegal weapons. The Narnaul police had, on February 28, arrested Hanuman, alias Kalia, and recovered arms and ammunition from him. During interrogation, he disclosed the names of other accused involved in the illegal trade,” said the SP.
The police had so far arrested six accused in the case from whom a total of 79 illegal weapons were seized.
