A man has been arrested for allegedly stabbing a 40-year-old man to death in Bhagat Nagar of the Tehsil Camp area on Wednesday night.

The deceased has been identified as Naresh, alias Bobby, of Bhagat Nagar.

Shiv Kumar, Naresh’s brother-in-law, in his statement to the police alleged that around 9.30 pm on Wednesday, a neighbour informed us that Jasbeer of Bhagat Ram Nagar was quarrelling with Naresh near Wadhawa Ram Chowk. We reached the spot and saw that Jasbeer was stabbing Naresh with his car keys. On seeing us, he fled, Shiv alleged.

He said that they admitted Naresh to the general hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. He said Jasbeer and Naresh had an old enmity, which could be the reason for the quarrel.

Inspector Vikrant said Jasbeer had been arrested and booked under IPC Section 302. He would be produced in a court on Friday.
