Yamunanagar, May 25
A person was killed while another sustained injuries when their car rammed into a tree on the Jagadhri- Paonta Sahib national highway near Malikpur Khadar village on Saturday.
The deceased has been identified as Sanju (45) of Matraliya village, situated near Paonta Sahib town (Himachal Pradesh). However, his driver Imran sustained injuries in the accident.
Imran said they came to Jagadhri to get the car’s tyres replaced. He said when they were going back to Paonta Sahib, he suddenly lost control over the vehicle and it rammed into a tree. Both were stuck in the mangled remains of the car and were pulled out by passers-by. Kamaljit Singh, SHO, Chhachhrauli police station, said they were taken to the Trauma Centre, Yamunanagar, where Sanju was declared brought dead. “After the postmortem, the body of the deceased would be handed over to his family members,” the SHO said.
