10 staffers of Panipat sugar mill suspended

Panipat Cooperative Sugar Mill MD Navdeep Singh on Tuesday suspended 10 employees for their alleged involvement in molasses scam of over Rs 6 lakh.

The alleged scam was detected during a special checking drive. It was found that the staff, in connivance with a dealer, were reportedly sending the molasses by committing fraud in the weighing of the loaded trucks. Lab incharge-cum-sales manager Madan Lal Rathore, security shift incharge Ved Singh, sales office helper Ranbir Singh, attendants Satish Kumar and Dharamveer, helper Subhash, security officer Ishwar Singh, and security persons Surender and Om Prakash have been suspended. —
