13 vehicles seized in crackdown on illegal mining in Yamunanagar

10 FIRs also registered in cases of illegal mining and transportation of minerals

Taking strict action against illegal mining, district administration teams have seized 13 vehicles, including earth-moving machines, in Yamunanagar in the past one week.

Besides, 10 FIRs were registered against violators during the same period. A fine of Rs 61,800 was also imposed on two vehicles which were allegedly found without inter-state transit passes (ISTPs).

Deputy Commissioner Preeti said that teams of the district administration, including the Mines and Geology Department, were taking strict action against illegal mining and transportation of mining minerals.

“Following the instructions of Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, the Mining Department’s Director General KM Pandurang is personally monitoring the department’s activities. The district administration is fully vigilant and keeping a close watch on illegal mining sites,” said DC Preeti.

She added that from May 18 to May 25, 2026, a total of 13 vehicles, including earth-moving machines, were seized.

“Besides the seizure of 13 vehicles, 10 FIRs were also registered in cases of illegal mining and transportation of minerals,” said the DC.

She further stated that the campaign against illegal mining would continue and strict legal action would be ensured against the culprits.
