142 vehicles impounded in Haryana's Yamunanagar over illegal mining in January & February
Owners of some impounded vehicles have deposited more than Rs 40 lakh as fine
The Mines and Geology Department, Yamunanagar, impounded 142 vehicles over illegal mining and unauthorised transportation of mining minerals done in January and February this year.
Besides, 22 cases have been registered against individuals, vehicles, operators of screening plants and stone crushers involved in illegal mining activities in the district. The owners of some of the impounded vehicles have deposited more than Rs 40 lakh as fine in the government treasury.
Deputy Commissioner Preeti gave this information at a meeting held with all SDMs of the district, officers of Mining Department, Irrigation Department, Pollution Department and Haryana State Enforcement Bureau in her office to prevent illegal mining and illegal transportation of mining minerals in the district.
She said all said departments were working tirelessly to prevent illegal mining and the illegal transportation of mining minerals in the district.“No one will be spared if he is found indulging in illegal mining activities.Strict action shall be taken against such persons,” said Preeti.
Under training IAS officer Suman Yadav, Jagadhri SDM Vishwanath, Vyaspur SDM Jaspal Singh Gill, Radaur SDM Narender Kumar, Chhachhrauli SDM Rohit Kumar, Assistant Mining Engineer Dr Rajesh Kumar, DIO Vinay Gulati, DPRO Dr Manoj Kumar, SHO of Haryana State Enforcement Bureau Rajesh Kumar and other officers were present at the meeting.
