An 18-year-old was killed after he got stuck in a lift of a handloom showroom on the Gohana road here on Saturday evening. The police registered a case and started investigation. The deceased was identified as Shiv Shankar (18) of Azad Nagar here. He had been working as labourer with Shree Balaji Traders on the Gohana road.

In his complaint to the police, Rajkumar, father of the deceased, said he received a message about his son getting stuck in the lift of the triple-storey showroom.

When he reached the spot, his son was found dead on the spot. He claimed that his son died due to negligence of showroom owner Amit Kumar as the lift was not being properly maintained.

After cutting the lift open, the police recovered the body. A case was registered against Amit Kumar of Shiv Nagar. The police on Sunday handed over the body to the deceased’s kin after postmortem examination. — TNS
