2 arrested in encounter for firing outside MLA's factory in Yamunanagar

Police had arrested 1 accused on April 7; Three accused arrested so far

The district police have arrested two suspects, allegedly involved in a firing incident, which took place outside the plywood factory of former Yamunanagar INLD MLA Dilbag Singh on March 30, after an encounter.

One of the accused, identified as Harsh of Sanheri Khalsa village in Kurukshetra, sustained a bullet injury in his leg during the exchange of fire and was admitted to Mukand Lal District Civil Hospital, Yamunanagar.

The other suspect, arrested by the police, has been identified as Abhishek, from the same village as Harsh.

DSP Rajat Gulia told the media that the district police received information about suspects’ movement near a canal in Kanjnu village of Yamunanagar district on Friday evening.

He said that when a police team tried to intercept them, the accused opened fire, and in retaliation, the police fired back, leading to an encounter in which one of the accused, Harsh, was injured.

He said that Harsh was immediately rushed to the hospital.

He added that a pistol was recovered from the possession of Abhishek.

According to information, the factory firing incident occurred on the night of March 30. The plywood factory is located near Jathlana village of Yamunanagar district.

An employee of the factory told the police that two bike-borne youths with covered faces arrived at the gate of the factory and opened fire before fleeing the spot.

The police have arrested three people so far in connection with this firing incident. Aman alias Kaku of Sanheri Khalsa village was arrested on April 7.
