Two get 5-years in jail for snatching mobile phone

A Gurugram court has sentenced two men to five years in prison for snatching a mobile phone in June 2023. Additional Sessions Judge Sandeep Chauhan also imposed a fine of Rs 25,000 on

each convict.

According to police, the two men, riding a scooter, snatched the phone from a victim on June 11 in the Rajendra Park area. Following the victim’s complaint, an FIR was lodged at the Rajendra Park police station and the investigation began.

Police officials said they arrested Suraj Kumar and Vipin Kumar, both residents of Samastipur, Bihar. The police added they gathered strong evidence and testimonies from witnesses, which were presented in court.

Based on this evidence, Judge Chauhan convicted the two men and sentenced them to five years in prison. They were also ordered to pay a fine of Rs 25,000 each.
