According to the prosecution, the case was registered at Radaur police station on November 13, 2021, based on a complaint by Jitender of Kalsaura village.

The complainant stated that on November 9, 2021, the two accused visited his cousin, Sumit Kumar, in their village. The next day, Aman, Raman, Sumit Kumar, and another accused, Raman of Kalsaura, left together, reportedly for Ladwa town in Kurukshetra district.

However, instead of going to Ladwa, they went to the fields of Chhota Bansh village in Radaur, Yamunanagar district. It was alleged that the accused conspired to drug Sumit, causing him to lose consciousness.

When his condition deteriorated, he was taken to the Community Health Center in Radaur, after which two of the accused fled. Doctors referred Sumit to Civil Hospital, Yamunanagar, but his family took him to Civil Hospital, Karnal, where he was declared dead.

The prosecutor said that based on the evidence and witness testimonies, the court found the two brothers guilty and sentenced them to life imprisonment, while giving the benefit of doubt to the third accused.
