The Kurukshetra police have solved the blind murder case of the person whose headless body was found at Keshav Park on December 30.
The deceased was identified as Sunil Kumar, a resident of Panipat. His head was found floating in Sannihit Sarovar on January 13.
The accused have been identified as Mohit and Manjeet, of Panipat. Another accused Ankush is yet to be arrested.
Kurukshetra SP Nitish Agarwal said a headless dead body was found on December 30, and the teams of CIA-1, CIA-2, CIA Ladwa, and Krishna Gate police station were constituted. The deceased was physically challenged, and an artificial leg was recovered near the deceased’s body. During the investigation, a sticker of Jaipur was found on the artificial leg and contacted the Viklang Sahayta Samiti Jaipur to obtain information about the people to whom such legs were given.
The samiti provided a list of 184 people from Haryana who were provided with artificial right legs.
The police contacted all those persons and only Sunil Kumar was found missing. Sunil’s father informed the police that a missing report was registered in Panipat on January 4.
As per the SP, deceased Sunil Kumar, and accused Mohit, Manjeet and Ankush had reached Kurukshetra in a train on the night of December 29. They had dinner at a hotel and then killed Sunil at Keshav Park. They had wrapped the head of Sunil in a sheet and thrown it in Sannihit Sarovar and left the headless body at the park.
About the dispute, the SP informed that accused Mohit used to use Sunil’s two-wheeler, and Sunil was an alcohol addict and he used to force Mohit to give him money for liquor else he would take his two-wheeler back. Mohit was not happy with the situation and due to the animosity, Mohit along with other accomplices (Manjeet and his brother Ankush) killed Sunil. The knife used to kill Sunil was also bought from Panipat.
