Karnal, July 20

Dilbagh Singh (20) of Kurukshetra drowned in the Western Yamuna Canal on Kachwa road on Friday.

Another youth, identified as Satinder Singh, was rescued by the residents.

As per information, Dilbagh was a hotel management student and had come to his aunt’s home at Gandhi Nagar in Karnal.

The incident took place in the afternoon when Dilbagh and three other youths went to take bath in the canal. Dilbagh and Satinder washed away by the current. Some residents rescued Satinder, but failed to save Dilbagh.

The police reached the spot and started a rescue operation. Divers were also pressed into service. But till the filing of this report, there was no clue about Dilbagh.
