Those convicted have been identified as Praveen, alias Binny, a resident of Veer-Bangra, currently residing on Ramgarh Road, Kalayat; Shubham, a resident of Chandana; and Kamal, a resident of Lamba Kheri.
Giving details of the case, DSP Bir Bhan said on the evening of July 20, 2020, Rajbir, alias Bittu Rana, a resident of Kalayat, was returning home from his fields on a motorcycle when the convicts chased him and shot him dead. Following the incident, a case was registered at Kalayat Police Station on the complaint of the victim’s brother Navneet. The investigation was carried out by CIA-1 Kaithal, which later arrested all persons involved in the case and submitted a chargesheet in the court.
Three others were acquitted due to lack of sufficient evidence, the DSP added.
