As per the complaint to the police, the inspector reached the house of Nishan Singh, father of Jaskaran Singh, and apprised the family about the purpose of his visit. He asked them about the foreign trip.

Nishan Singh made him talk to Jaskaran over the phone and claimed that Jaskaran had gone to meet a relative. Meanwhile, Nishan Singh and five-six youths reportedly started abusing and beating him up. They also allegedly destroyed his official documents. Later, a police team reached the spot and rescued the inspector.

SHO Pehowa police station Vikrant said, “A CBI inspector in civil dress had come to Pehowa for the verification of Jaskaran Singh, who is abroad, but despite showing the ID, Nishan Singh and his family members, along with some more people, thrashed the inspector. They claimed that they had doubts that he was an inspector, but instead of informing the police, they started beating him up. On the basis of the complaint, a case has been registered. Three people have been arrested and will be produced before a court tomorrow.”
