48 domestic LPG cylinders seized from commercial places in Rohtak
Rohtak DC assures adequate LPG, petrol and diesel supply; says panic-driven behavior can disrupt the otherwise smooth supply system
A team of officials from the Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department conducted raids at confectionery shops, hotels, and dhabas across Rohtak on Wednesday evening, seizing 48 domestic LPG cylinders being used for commercial purposes.
“The raids were carried out at establishments located on Circular Road, in Sector-1 and Sector-2 markets, Jhajjar Chungi, and near the Old ITI, where operators were found illegally using domestic LPG cylinders for commercial activities,” said an official.
With this, the district administration has seized a total of 105 LPG cylinders over the past month.
Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner Sachin Gupta informed that the district administration and the government are fully alert to ensure an uninterrupted supply of LPG, petrol, and diesel, and there is adequate availability of all fuels in the district.
He emphasised that the district is receiving fuel supply more than its day-to-day requirement, and therefore, there is absolutely no need for panic buying. The supply chain is functioning normally, ensuring smooth and regular delivery to consumers.
“A total of 35 LPG agencies are operational in the district. On Thursday, the total LPG stock stood at 7,645 cylinders, with 6,207 cylinders received as fresh supply, and 7,655 cylinders distributed to consumers. Similarly, 173 petrol pumps are operational, and there is sufficient stock of petrol and diesel available for at least one week,” said Gupta.
The DC appealed to citizens to avoid unnecessary purchases or hoarding of LPG cylinders, petrol, or diesel, stating that panic-driven behavior can disrupt the otherwise smooth supply system.
