The cyber cell of the local police has arrested five persons for duping a man of Rs 30,000. As many as 28 mobile phones, a laptop, six debit cards and Rs 1.07 lakh in cash has been recovered.
The arrested have been identified as Yogesh, Anshu, Yash, Vikas and Mohammed Kaif. They were arrested from their hideouts in Faridabad and Delhi.
The complainant, Reghvender, a resident of Faridabad, said the fraudsters had offered him to extend his SBI credit card limit.
“The fraudsters sent me a link to fill my details. After I was had finished the formalities, they withdrew money from my credit card,” he said.
A police official said Yogesh was the mastermind of the racket, which he ran from a call centre in Janakpuri, New Delhi. All accused have been remanded to judicial custody.
