6-year-old writes to Haryana CM Saini over broken swings in Sirsa park

A six-year-old boy has appealed to Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini to get broken swings repaired and provide play equipment at a local park in Sirsa. He said children were at a risk of injury and had stopped visiting the park due to its poor condition.

Rajvardhan, a Class I student and resident of Aggarwal Colony, filed a complaint through the state’s grievance system, known as the CM Window. In his message, he wrote that the Traffic Park located in the Mini Secretariat complex was the only place near his house where children could play safely.

However, swings, slides and other equipment in the park were badly damaged, he wrote. Some swings were in such a poor condition that they posed a risk of injury to children. Due to safety concerns, many children had stopped going to the park, he stated.

The child also said that as a result, children were spending more time indoors, watching television or using mobile phones, which was not good for their health. Rajvardhan urged the CM and the district authorities to remove the old and broken equipment and install new swings, slides and other play facilities so that children could play in a safe environment.
