60-year-old found murdered near drain in Kharkhoda area

The body of a 60-year-old woman was found under suspicious circumstances in bushes near a drain in the Kharkhoda police station area on Monday. The woman had been missing since Sunday afternoon.

The police have registered a case against unidentified persons under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and launched an investigation. Sexual assault is also suspected, though officials said confirmation would depend on forensic reports.

According to information, the woman, a resident of a village falling under the Kundli police station area, had gone to bring fodder from the fields on Sunday afternoon but did not return home by evening. Her family members searched for her during the night but could not trace her.

During the search, the family found her dupatta lying in the fields. On Monday morning, villagers joined the family in searching the area near a drain passing through the fields.
