63 complaints received at Samadhan Shivir in Sonepat

DC orders suspension of lineman for negligence in duty

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Manoj Kumar today directed to suspend a lineman after finding negligence in duty while hearing complaints at the "Samadhan Shivir" in the Mini-Secretariat here.

Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini also heard people’s grievances through video-conferencing on the occasion and directed the officials concerned to ensure prompt resolution of people’s problems on a priority basis.

Sixty three complaints were received on Friday, of which eight were resolved on the spot, while 55 were sent to the departments concerned with directions to resolve these on a priority basis.

Captain Jagbir Singh of Fouji Colony, in his complaint to the DC, said the power cable from the electricity meter to his house had got burnt due to some reasons. “I asked the lineman concerned to rectify the fault several times, but the problem was not resolved,” he alleged.

Following the complaint, the DC told the Superintending Engineer, Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (UHBVN), to suspend the lineman and resolve the problem of the complainant.

Manoj Kumar strictly directed the officials to initiate immediate action if any person came to them for any problem, so that he need not to come to "Samadhan Shivir". He further directed all heads of departments to be present at the "Samdhan Shivir", otherwise action would be initiated against them also.

The DC said "Samadhan Shivirs" had also been organised at the subdivisions in Gohana, Kharkhoda and Gannaur.

Apart from this, for the complaints regarding municipal bodies, "Samadhan Shivirs" had been organised at the Municipal Corporation in Sonepat; Municipal Council in Gohana, municipal committees at Kharkhoda, Gannaur and Kundli. He appealed to people to go to these camps organised in the municipal bodies for their complaints.

In Panipat, 84 complaints were received on Friday, of which 10 were resolved on the spot, while other were sent to the departments concerned.
