An anti-encroachment drive was conducted by the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) today on the MG Road. In the drive, 1.25km of service roads on this pivotal corridor were cleared. Earlier this week, the GMDA officials had conducted two-day surveys to examine the road. It was found that service roads opposite licensed societies were blocked due to construction of unauthorised boundary walls and iron fencing. Most of these roads were inaccessible for public use.
During the drive, 70 challans were imposed and 43 vehicles were towed away by the traffic police. The drive was conducted as per the directives issued by the Chief Executive Officer, GMDA, A Sreenivas.
