800 cops deployed, 70 check posts set up in Haryana's Ambala on Holi

The Ambala police have decided to deploy nearly 800 police personnel and install nearly 70 check posts in the district to thwart any untoward incident and keep an eye on nuisance creators on Holi.

As per the directions issued by the Ambala Superintendent of Police, Ajit Singh Shekhawat, besides the police personnel, the teams of CIA and intelligence wings will also be actively monitoring the situation and remain deployed in civil dress.

As per the Ambala police spokesman, elaborated security arrangements have been made to ensure a safe and peaceful Holi. As directed by the Ambala Superintendent of Police, a special action plan has been developed to keep a close watch on miscreants and nuisance creators in the district. Nearly 70 special police check posts will be established in Ambala district, along with the deployment of over 800 police personnel. Besides these, as many as eight teams of CIAs will conduct continuous patrolling in Ambala. Additionally, the Intelligence Department personnel will be in civil dress to identify miscreants in crowded areas.

For the ‘Quick response’, the emergency response vehicles, PCRs, Riders, and Durga Shakti teams will be on alert mode to prevent any dispute. Reserve police forces have also been kept on alert at the police lines for any emergencies.

As per the SP, all Station House Officers (SHOs) have been ordered to increase patrolling in their respective areas and maintain special vigilance in sensitive areas. The Police Department has appealed to all citizens to celebrate the festival with mutual love and brotherhood. People should avoid any kind of hooliganism or coercion. The Police Department will be on alert mode and will be keeping a close watch. A strict legal action will be taken against those who disrupt law and order under the guise of the festival. In case of any emergency, the public can seek assistance by dialing 112.
