Terming the AAP as Congress’ "mausi", Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini on Tuesday trained guns on both parties, blaming them for the administrative and financial mess in Punjab.

“Only the BJP can pull out Punjab from the quagmire of administrative and fiscal mess perpetuated by years of misrule of both the Congress and AAP. Under the PM's leadership, the BJP will win the 2027 Assembly polls,” he claimed.

Taking potshots at the parties, Saini accused the Opposition of trying to spread rumours to mislead people as they had no substantive issues. He especially mentioned the recent India-US deal that would prove to be a game changer for the traders, industrialists and people of the state, despite the Opposition propaganda.

As part of the BJP’s electoral strategy, Saini has been making regular trips to poll-bound Punjab, where it is trying to find its feet in the run-up to the polls. “Punjab's farmers are aware that Haryana buys 24 crops at MSP and provides timely compensation in case of natural disasters. Punjab people want to replicate the Haryana model in Punjab,” he claimed.

Blaming Bhagwant Singh Mann-led government of going back on its promise of providing Rs 1,000 aid to women, Saini said Haryana provided Rs 2,100 to women under the Lado Lakshmi Scheme within a year of the formation of the BJP government.

He also clarified allegations regarding the hiring of youths from other states through the Haryana Public Service Commission (HPSC), saying that the government was committed to providing jobs on merit. As youth from Haryana secure jobs in Punjab, UP, Rajasthan and Himachal Pradesh, what was wrong if meritorious candidates from other states were selected in Haryana, he asked.
