Acid attack on woman in Gurugram, victim referred to PGIMS-Rohtak in critical condition

A young woman was allegedly attacked with acid late on Sunday near the district civil hospital. The victim suffered severe burns on her face and several parts of her body. She is reported to be in a critical condition.

According to initial information, the 24-year-old woman, a resident of Nuh, had come to Subhash Nagar in Gurugram to meet her maternal aunt. A young man from Nuh reportedly followed and confronted her.

An argument broke between the two during which the man allegedly assaulted the woman. After the altercation, the victim was taken to the district civil hospital in Gurugram by her family members.

At around 8:30 pm, while she was at the hospital, the accused allegedly threw acid on her and fled away. The woman was immediately shifted to the emergency ward, where doctors—considering her serious condition—referred her to Pandit Bhagwat Dayal Sharma Post-Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences at Rohtak for advanced treatment.
