Haryana Cabinet Minister Anil Vij on Sunday said an administrative approval amounting Rs 1.54 crore had been granted for the installation of a boosting station in the Mahesh Nagar area of Ambala Cantonment.
The minister said the project would ensure better availability of clean canal water for the residents, and further said the boosting station would soon be established near the old water tank on Babyal Road in Mahesh Nagar.
“This facility will enable the supply of canal water to dozens of colonies within the Mahesh Nagar area, while simultaneously reducing the dependence on tubewells for drinking water supply,” he added.
Meanwhile, following the approval of the Rs 1.54 crore for the boosting station, Municipal Council, Ambala Sadar, house member from Ward 9 Renu Chauhan and Somnath from Ward 8 along with BJP leaders Vijender Chauhan, Neeraj Sharma, and several others visited Minister Anil Vij’s residence to express their gratitude. They said the project wouldbenefit thousands of residents living in the Mahesh Nagar area.
As per the BJP leaders, the establishment of the boosting station in Mahesh Nagar will bring benefits to areas such as Dayal Bagh, Mahesh Nagar, Bharat Nagar, Shiv Pratap Nagar, Kabir Nagar, Rama Estate, Golden Park and other adjoining areas. Earlier, the boosting station for the Mahesh Nagar region was located in Arya Nagar, from where canal water was supplied to the various colonies; however, with the construction of the new boosting station, the residents of other colonies will now also get the benefits.
