Adopt 'Khelo Haryana' slogan: Rana to schools
Agriculture Minister exhorts institutes to work towards making state No. 1 in sports in India
DAV Public School, Professor Colony, Yamunanagar, celebrated its annual day, under the inspiring theme symbolising the pursuit of the finest values and excellence in education.
The chief guest of the programme was Haryana Agriculture Minister Shyam Singh Rana and the guest of honour was district president of BJP, Rajesh Sapra.
Vijay Kapur, chairman of DAV Schools, Yamunanagar, welcomed the chief guest, guest of honour and other dignitaries. Rana appreciated the school’s role in nurturing disciplined, value-oriented citizens and encouraged students to embrace sports for holistic development.
Highlighting initiatives like Khel Nursery, he urged schools to adopt the slogan “Khelo Haryana” to make Haryana number 1 in sports in India.
He also desired that they should work collectively for making India the third strongest economy.
In his message, Vijay Kapur said that Rana, made tremendous progress in the field of agriculture for the welfare of farmers and praised him for his significant contributions to the field of education by giving liberal grants to DAV institutions.
He also praised Sapra for his loving nature.He said that late JN Kapur was the first RSS Sanchalak of Abdullahpur (Yamunanagar) and shared a close association with Dr Syama Prasad Mukherjee.
He further said after the Partition, he formed Jan Sangh with him as a founder member and educated a tremendous rush of refugees by establishing a chain of DAV institutions for the regeneration of the country.
He also praised Yogi Suri, president of Arya Yuva Samaj for taking keen interest in starting the anti-drug campaign in Haryana.
Principal VK Kashiv read the school annual report and highlighted that the theme reflected the school’s vision of nurturing responsible and confident learners.
The event also witnessed the release of the school newsletter 2025–26 and prize distribution, celebrating the success of students. Vice-chairman Dr MC Sharma gave the vote of thanks.
