Adopt latest tech for better yield: Haryana Agriculture Minister Shyam Singh Rana urges farmers

Haryana Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Shyam Singh Rana today called upon farmers to protect their land and adopt the latest technologies to boost production.

He was addressing the farmers on the concluding day of the state-level two-day Krishi Vikas Mela, organised by Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University at the grain market in Ladwa on Sunday.

He said, “Just as apartments are being built as the population grows, there's a need to use technology in agriculture sector as well. The land is limited and as families grow, land is further shrinking. Farmers need to understand how to protect their land and also the fertility of the land.”

He also motivated the farmers to adopt natural farming methods and water-efficient crops.

Rana during the Congress rule, farmers sold their crops in the market and the money for their produce went into someone else's account. However, under the BJP government, farmers receive the money into their bank accounts within 48 hours of the sale of their crops.

The Agriculture Minister also honored progressive farmers of the state on this occasion.

Prof BR Kamboj, Vice Chancellor of Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University, said Krishi Vikas Mela will be organised every year.
