Tension gripped Kankrola village after some miscreants allegedly vandalised a statue of Dr BR Ambedkar in Ambedkar Colony of the village on Friday. An FIR was registered in this regard.

According to the complaint, an employee of the Municipal Corporation, Gurugram (MCG), spotted the statue without a head, and informed the villagers about it. The villagers then called a panchayat and informed the police about the incident. Meanwhile, Bhim Sena’s Satpal Tanwar also arrived at the spot. Tanwar said if the accused was not arrested in two days, they would launch a protest.

Police said they had filed an FIR under Sections 298 and 352 of the BNS and Section 3 of the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribes Atrocities (Prevention) Act.
