Rohtak, May 6

Here is good news for mustard growers who could not sell their produce. The state government has decided to provide them another opportunity for selling their mustard crop at the MSP of Rs4,200 per quintal.

“May 10 has been fixed as open day for the procurement of mustard in the grain markets across the state. Hence, farmers can bring their produce for sale to the grain markets on May 10. The decision aims at procuring every seed of mustard to help farmers,” said Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar while interacting with mediapersons after addressing an election meeting in Kalanaur town on Monday.

Khattar appealed to the farmers to sell only their own produce. He also asked them not to indulge in the dubious practice of bringing mustard from Rajasthan to Haryana for selling it at the MSP. The officials concerned would verify on the spot whether the produce was sown by the individual farmer, he added.
