Under the directions of Municipal Commissioner Mahabir Parsad, a team of the MCYJ raised awareness among citizens about reducing, reusing and recycling waste.

During the campaign, information, education and communication (IEC) expert Akash Kumar along with the team of the MCYJ went door-to-door to educate residents about the importance of reducing, reusing and recycling of waste.

He said the MCYJ had been operating RRR centres at various locations in the twin cities, where citizens could deposit unused, but usable items such as old clothes, books, shoes, utensils and other items from their homes.

“The materials collected at these centres are reused by those in need, reducing waste and conserving resources,” said Kumar.

“Instead of throwing unused items in the garbage, people should donate them to RRR centres established by the Municipal Corporation, so those items can be reused. Small efforts together can play a big role in making twin cities clean and beautiful,” said Parsad.
