Gurugram, September 11

The police on Wednesday nabbed a jail inmate for trying to smuggle drugs inside the Bhondsi jail after returning from his hearing in Sonepat and Kharkhoda.

The accused had procured drugs in court, but was caught during frisking before entering jail. An FIR was lodged at the Bhondsi police station after the police recovered 12-g heroin and 29-g charas from him.

Inspector Satender Rawal, head of the crime unit in Sohna, got information about Sombir of Karor village in Rohtak district having drugs with him on his way back after hearing.

When the prison van arrived at the jail gate, the inmate was detained. He was frisked in the presence of ACP (Crime) Shamsher Singh Dahiya. Sombir was sent in judicial custody again after being produced in a city court. — OC
