Addressing the gathering, the Union Minister said the annual celebration is distinct and unique compared to other institutions as it presents a remarkable and integrated blend of sports, education, yoga and culture on one platform.

He stated that such events boost students’ self-confidence and also spread positive energy among parents, the audience and guests. “Sports not only enhance physical fitness but also build mental resilience, discipline, and leadership qualities. They foster team spirit, which is essential for society,” he said.

While motivating students, sports teach healthy competition. A player is encouraged by victory and learns from defeat to prepare better for the next opportunity, and this spirit inspires progress in life. Sports teach us that hard work, patience, and continuous effort are vital for success,” he said.

He emphasised that the outdated notion that sports and studies are separate has changed. Quoting a popular saying, he said, “Education makes you capable and sports help dreams come true.” A proper balance between sports and education is the key to a bright future for the youth.

He called upon young people to stay away from social evils like substance abuse. Educational institutions and society must work together to protect youth from drugs, he added.
